Per-Diem Shift 9 Job Description At the direction of a licensed physician, the Respiratory Therapist assumes primary responsibility for the assessment, treatment and care and education for patients with cardiopulmonary related disorders. The Respiratory Therapist administers respiratory therapy modalities and performs cardiac testing, electroencephalogram in accordance with the Respiratory Therapist scope of care as defined by organization policy and procedure. Education And Credentials Associates of Science in Respiratory Therapy required. Current New York State license as a Respiratory Therapist; BLS required.

ACLS, PALS, NALS

preferred. Experience One year of post-licensure practice as a Respiratory Therapist within an acute care facility preferred. Requires critical thinking skills, working collaboratively with a variety of licensed and non - licensed professionals internal and external to hospital operations, application of clinical knowledge and skills in performance of patient care in new and evolving situations, clear communication of educational materials and clinical procedures, administration of a full treatment modality assignment, decisive judgment may need to be exerted in emergent situations and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
