- 7:30 AM) Job Summary The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides advanced cardiopulmonary care to adult patients in critical care, emergency, and respiratory/neuro diagnostic settings.
The role includes ventilator management, airway support, emergency respiratory interventions, and comprehensive pulmonary care in a high-acuity hospital environment. Strong clinical expertise in mechanical ventilation, airway management, and EPIC documentation is required. Required Qualifications Active New York State Respiratory Therapist License required (must be in hand; no exceptions) Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required Current BLS Certification required Minimum 1 year recent RRT experience required
EPIC EMR
proficiency required Experience in ICU, ED, and critical care respiratory therapy required Strong ventilator management and airway support experience required Required Clinical Skills Mechanical ventilation management (Adult ICU/ED) Intubation and extubation assistance Airway management (oral, nasal, tracheostomy care) Suctioning (ETT, NT, oral/nasal) CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, T-piece, Trach collar therapy Bag-mask ventilation ABG sampling and interpretation support Weaning from mechanical ventilation Pulmonary hygiene and respiratory assessment Management of high-pressure ventilator alarms Patient assessment in respiratory failure and distress Responsibilities Provide respiratory support across ICU, ED, and acute care units Manage ventilators and respiratory support systems Assist with intubation and emergency airway procedures Perform diagnostic respiratory procedures including ABGs and sputum collection Monitor and adjust respiratory therapy based on patient condition Troubleshoot ventilator alarms and equipment issues Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC For more details reach at
