Job Description

Category Respiratory - Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Type Contract Step into a vital clinical role supporting neonatal patients in a Level 2 Special Care Nursery. This contract opportunity focuses on providing expert respiratory care within a multidisciplinary team, serving a pediatric population requiring specialized interventions. Your work will directly impact patient outcomes in a high-acuity environment.
Schedule/Hours:
Contract position with variable shifts as scheduled by facility needs.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Demonstrated proficiency in neonatal respiratory therapy, including intubation and high-risk delivery attendance. Experience working within a neonatal or pediatric critical care setting highly preferred. Knowledge and use of medication carts, bar code medication administration, and respiratory therapy equipment (MDI, DPI, holding chamber, Omnicell). Strong skills in patient and family education related to respiratory therapies. Exceptional collaborative and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver medicated aerosol therapy using small volume nebulizers and other devices. Educate patients and families on aerosol, MDI, and DPI therapy. Manage and administer medications, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation. Perform suctioning, manual and assisted ventilation, including T-piece and heated humidified therapies. Assist with intubations, blood gas sampling, analysis, and accurate interpretation for ongoing clinical decision support. Participate in high-risk deliveries, surfactant administration, and strictly adhere to NRP protocols. Maintain clinical documentation and communicate updates with the healthcare team.
