Respiratory Therapist RT RRT Ventilator Unit Nightingale - 3.7 Garfield Heights, OH Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Tracheostomy care BLS Certification Mechanical ventilation monitoring State-specific respiratory therapist license RCP License Full Job Description Respiratory Therapist (RT / RRT) - Ventilator Unit Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities The Villa at Marymount Position Summary The Villa at Marymount is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support residents in our specialized 10-bed Ventilator Unit . This role is ideal for a clinician experienced in the management of mechanical ventilation, complex airways, and high-acuity respiratory care within a postacute or long-term care setting. The Respiratory Therapist will work closely with nursing, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate respiratory care. Key Responsibilities Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators , including initiation, adjustments, troubleshooting, and alarm management Provide care for residents with tracheostomies and complex airway devices Perform respiratory assessments and evaluate patient response to ventilator settings and respiratory therapies Administer respiratory treatments such as aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, and airway clearance interventions Assist with ventilator weaning protocols as ordered by physicians Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and clinical leadership on resident care plans Respond promptly to respiratory distress or equipment-related emergencies Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, and safety checks of respiratory equipment Accurately document assessments, treatments, and ventilator data per policy and regulatory standards Educate residents, families, and staff on respiratory care as appropriate Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program Active Respiratory Therapist license (state-specific) RRT or CRT credential (RRT preferred) Demonstrated experience with: Mechanical ventilators Tracheostomy care High-acuity or ventilator-dependent patients Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain) Experience in: Ventilator units Subacute, long-term acute care (LTACH), ICU, or step-down units Familiarity with chronic ventilator management and medically complex populations Schedule & Employment Type Full-Time and Part-Time positions available Flexible scheduling may be available based on staffing needs
