Category Respiratory - Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Type Travel Exciting opportunity for a Registered Respiratory Therapist skilled in pediatrics, offering the chance to apply specialized respiratory care expertise in a dynamic travel role based in Lakewood, OH. This position provides the opportunity to work within a comprehensive respiratory therapy framework, serving pediatric patients with critical respiratory needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer medicated aerosol therapies including small volume nebulizers, vibrating mesh nebulizers, and MDI/DPI devices with patient education. Perform airway clearance therapies such as clapping, vibration, PEP, high frequency chest wall oscillation, and cough assist techniques. Manage airway interventions including suctioning, tracheostomy care, manual ventilation, ventilator system checks, and NAVA initiation. Conduct high-risk respiratory procedures including surfactant administration, neonatal resuscitation protocols, T-piece ventilation, and intubation. Interpret blood gases and provide accurate sampling. Deliver humidity therapy using heated aerosol masks, trach collars, HMEs, and other devices. Adhere to clinical practice guidelines focusing on asthma, cystic fibrosis, respiratory distress syndrome, and acute chest syndrome care. Monitor patients with pulse oximetry, capnography, ventilator graphics, and conduct spontaneous breathing trials. Support patient transport including high flow nasal cannula portable units, MRI monitoring, and neonatal rapid response team functions. Manage oxygen and special gas therapies including inhaled nitric oxide calibration and heliox therapy. Perform cleaning and maintenance of respiratory equipment to ensure safety and compliance.Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential. Proficiency in pediatric respiratory care techniques and protocols. Experience with advanced airway management and ventilator support. Skilled in patient education for respiratory therapies. Ability to work independently in high-stress clinical environments. Strong knowledge of clinical respiratory guidelines and best practices.Location Highlights:
