Required Skills & Experience:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential Proficiency with pediatric patient populations Demonstrated competence in aerosol therapy, airway clearance, airway management, mechanical ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP/NIMV/NAVA), high-risk delivery, surfactant administration, and tracheostomy care Ability to perform blood gas sampling/analysis, medication administration, and bar coding procedures Experience with clinical practice guidelines: Asthma, CF, RDS, BPD, HFNC Protocol, Acute Chest Syndrome, Nitric Oxide, and oxygen/special gas therapies Expertise with patient monitoring including pulse oximetry, capnography, ventilator graphic interpretation, and spontaneous breathing trials Strong skills in patient and family education regarding respiratory therapies and equipment Participation in neonatal rapid response and transport, including MRI/internal transport
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy interventions, including both routine and complex modalities Educate patients and families on aerosol, MDI, DPI therapies, and equipment operation Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care plans Ensure accurate documentation, equipment cleaning, and adherence to safety standards
