Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across various settings, including inpatient units, emergency departments, intensive care units, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will support patients with diverse respiratory conditions, ensuring optimal oxygenation, ventilation, and overall respiratory health. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a thorough understanding of physiology and anatomy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment. Requirements 13 weeks Must have AHA BLS/ACLS, state RT license No blocked schedule guarantees, talent must be flexible Responsibilities Assess patients' respiratory status through detailed evaluation of vital signs, lung sounds, and medical history to determine appropriate interventions. Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and medication delivery with precision and safety. Manage ventilators for patients requiring mechanical ventilation in critical care settings including ICU and PICU. Perform airway management procedures, including intubation assistance and suctioning, ensuring airway patency at all times. Monitor patient responses to treatments by evaluating vital signs and adjusting therapies accordingly. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, pulmonology, and trauma centers to develop individualized care plans. Document all procedures accurately within electronic health records while maintaining compliance with hospital protocols. Provide education to patients and families regarding respiratory conditions and therapies to promote understanding and adherence. Maintain proficiency in advanced respiratory equipment operation and troubleshooting. Support emergency response efforts by providing critical care interventions during acute episodes or trauma situations. Requirements Valid licensure as a Respiratory Therapist from an accredited program; certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory. Proven experience in hospital environments such as ICU, PICU, or emergency departments; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pulmonology, and medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy. Demonstrated competence in ventilator management, airway procedures, medication administration, and patient assessment. Familiarity with acute care protocols across inpatient and outpatient settings including geriatrics and pediatrics. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure situations requiring critical thinking. Excellent communication skills for clear documentation and patient interaction. Prior experience with hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or outpatient clinics is advantageous. Knowledge of hospital procedures related to vital signs monitoring and trauma response is preferred.
