Responsibilities for a Respiratory Therapist with
Phoebe Allentown:
Meets goals and needs of residents needing respiratory therapy by conducting pulmonary assessments; assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and by prescription. Communicating effectively with interdisciplinary care teams regarding all aspects of respiratory program. Assesses the effectiveness of care to all patients on the service as appropriate or according to prescribed schedules. Follows Respiratory Therapy Services protocol. Evaluates effects of respiratory therapy treatment plan by observing, noting, and evaluating resident progress, recommending adjustments and modifications. Completes discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, discharge planners, and other health care workers. Ensure operation of equipment by completing or overseeing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions. Educates all interdisciplinary team members to any changes in the care, equipment, and/or approach to the resident as it relates to their pulmonary status. Educates residents/family regarding discharge instruction related to respiratory care as requested by Medical/Nursing team. Requirements for a Respiratory Therapist with
Phoebe Allentown:
The ability to deliver excellent customer service to all residents, families, and coworkers. Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician by the National Board of Respiratory Care and certified/licensed in the State of Pennsylvania. Minimum one (1) year of related experience is normally required.
