Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The Respiratory Therapist will provide essential respiratory care to patients across various settings, including inpatient units, emergency departments, intensive care units, and outpatient clinics. This role involves assessing patient respiratory needs, administering treatments, managing ventilators, and supporting critical care interventions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, along with experience in hospital medicine and emergency response. required Patient population: Adults 1-2 yrs ICU experience preferred Prior travel experience EPIC experience Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments focusing on respiratory function, vital signs, and overall clinical status. Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery, aerosol treatments, and medication administration tailored to individual patient needs. Manage and monitor ventilator support systems for patients requiring mechanical ventilation in ICU or acute care settings. Perform airway management procedures including intubation, suctioning, and airway clearance techniques. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with respiratory conditions. Maintain accurate documentation of treatments provided, patient responses, and vital signs in accordance with hospital protocols. Respond promptly to emergency situations involving airway compromise or respiratory distress, providing critical interventions. Educate patients and their families on respiratory health management and post-discharge care strategies. Ensure compliance with hospital policies on infection control, safety procedures, and medical standards. Participate in ongoing training to stay current with advancements in pulmonology and critical care practices. Requirements Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from an accredited program; licensure as required by state or local regulations. Minimum of two years' experience in hospital environments such as
ICU, PICU
(Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), or emergency medicine. Demonstrated expertise in airway management, ventilator operation, and acute care procedures. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pulmonology, and medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy. Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Proficiency in patient assessment techniques and vital signs monitoring. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred. Familiarity with outpatient clinics and geriatrics is advantageous for diverse patient populations. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism.
