Primary Responsibilities:
+ Participate in clinical research, maintain accurate records, and document patient interactions. + Communicate with healthcare personnel and exhibit service excellence. + Perform various respiratory therapies, including chest physiotherapy, flutter valve, PEP, incentive spirometry, humidification, nebulization, BiPAP/CPAP, IPPB, aerosolized drugs, and pulmonary function testing. + Assist in transporting patients requiring respiratory support and ensure proper respiratory equipment management. + Administer therapeutic gases, replace and monitor compressed gas cylinders, and perform arterial punctures with aseptic technique. + Provide, maintain, calibrate, and repair respiratory equipment. + Conduct resting, titration, exercise, and nocturnal oximetry studies. + Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including airway management, ventilatory support, and external cardiac massage. + Attend meetings, complete competencies, and stay updated on hospital policies and respiratory care. + Ensure patient charges are entered daily. + Currently enrolled in a CoARC approved school of Respiratory Care. + The intern must have completed one semester of clinical rotations at a CoARC approved school of Respiratory Care.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) + Clearances with renewal: + 31, 33, 34, & 73 UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
