Job Description
Category Respiratory - Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Type Travel Deliver advanced respiratory care in a renowned teaching hospital equipped with sophisticated technology and dedicated to excellence in patient outcomes. This contract opportunity requires a Registered Respiratory Therapist to support adult critical care units, offering the chance to work alongside a multidisciplinary team in a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma setting.
Schedule:
Night shifts: 3x12-hour, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Every other weekend required Holidays required per department needsQualifications:
ActiveNBRC RRT
certification (CRT may be considered) South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) license in hand at start BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years' experience in adult critical care as RRT Experience with advanced therapies: ECMO, IABP, Impella strongly preferred Experience in cardiovascular and medical/surgical ICU settingsResponsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to critically ill adults, including those post cardiac/vascular surgery, heart & lung transplants, and patients requiring mechanical circulatory support Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to optimize respiratory outcomes Use Epic electronic charting to accurately document interventions and responses Adhere to hospital policies for patient care and safety Float within scope, primarily within the adult population, if neededFacility Highlights:
865 staffed beds with specialized cardiovascular and medical/surgical ICUs Exposure to high-acuity scenarios including ARDS, septic shock, and complex cardiac patients Caribbean blue scrubs; parking available for nights and weekends (one-time $20 pass) Commitment to training and supporting professionals during hurricane season—preparedness required This role offers the opportunity to enhance your clinical skills in a dynamic, high-volume environment recognized for excellence in patient care.
