Overview Respiratory Supervisor , Cardiopulmonary Services Full Time, 80
Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift LeConte Medical Center Overview:

Position Summary:
Supervises clinical staff in conjunction with performing clinician duties in a role model methodology. Responsibilities Coordinates daily work assignments and prepares schedule for clinical staff. Monitors staffing of each shift to ensure adequate number of personnel are scheduled to provide patient care. Assists with collection of quality assurance data. Provides direct communication to staff and management. Available to clinical staff as consultant and resource person. Evaluates patients as related to therapy; communicates results to other therapists, nursing staff and physicians when evaluation indicates need for change in treatment. Assumes responsibility of mentoring respiratory staff and orientation of new employees on shift worked. In conjunction with necessary departments, coordinate clinical competence of all personnel performing respiratory care procedures. Performs assigned tasks and uses equipment with skill and accuracy. Maintains clean work area. Conducts in-service education under the direction of the manager. Provide personnel management to include staff placement, discipline, interviewing and orientation in conjunction with the Manager. Assist with performance appraisals and goal setting Assists with monitoring and maintaining department compliance to meet all regulatory agency requirements Act as a liaison to patients and other customers to provide timely and accurate communication and problem resolution Collaborates with the Manager / Director to identify learning needs of staff, ensure participation and evaluate clinical competency. Collaborate with others to determine product standardization as needed.
Assists with daily operations including:
interdisciplinary meetings, department statistics, payroll, charges, and supply / equipment inventory. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Education:
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years' clinical experience.
Licensure Requirement:
Licensed in the State of Tennessee as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with ABG endorsement, and valid RRT credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care is required.
