Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across various hospital settings, including emergency departments, intensive care units, pediatric units, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will support patient recovery by managing respiratory conditions, assisting with airway management, and delivering life-saving interventions. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a thorough understanding of physiology and anatomy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in fast-paced environments. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to patient outcomes within a dynamic healthcare facility. Requirements 13 weeks Must have AHA BLS/ACLS, state RT license No blocked schedule guarantees, talent must be flexible Responsibilities Assess patients' respiratory status through detailed evaluation of vital signs, lung sounds, and medical history. Administer respiratory therapy treatments such as oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy. Operate and monitor ventilators and other advanced respiratory equipment for both invasive and non-invasive ventilation. Manage airway devices including endotracheal tubes, tracheostomies, and airway adjuncts with precision and safety. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in critical care settings such as ICU, PICU, trauma centers, and emergency departments. Provide emergency interventions including basic life support (BLS) and advanced airway management during acute incidents. Conduct patient education on respiratory health, medication administration, and post-treatment care plans. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health records while maintaining compliance with hospital protocols. Support outpatient clinics by performing assessments and delivering therapies tailored to chronic respiratory conditions. Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives related to respiratory care practices. Skills Extensive knowledge of hospital medicine, critical care procedures, and emergency medicine protocols. Proficiency in ventilator management and airway management techniques. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy. Experience working within Level I trauma centers or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments focusing on vital signs and pulmonary function tests. Familiarity with pediatrics, geriatrics, and outpatient as well as inpatient care environments. Competence in medication administration related to respiratory treatments. Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in acute care settings such as ICU or emergency departments. Excellent communication skills for collaboration with healthcare professionals and patient education. Knowledge of pulmonology principles and experience with hospital-based respiratory therapy practices.
