Position Purpose The Pulmonary Function Tech will assist with the overall functioning of the pulmonary department. What you will do Perform routine function tests according to protocols established by the ATS including PFTs, DLCO, FRC, (with and without bronchodilators) Methacholine Challenge tests, and oximetry both at rest and with exercise Explain and demonstrate testing and instructs patients in testing procedures to ensure patient's best effort Provide first level trouble shooting for pulmonary function equipment and perform quality control procedures on pulmonary testing equipment to ensure proper operation and integrity of test results Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy and/or certification as a Pulmonary Function Technologist 1 to 2 years respiratory therapy experience as an RRT in hospital or physician office, and/or a minimum of 6 months to 2 years of experience as a pulmonary function technologist Proficiency with pulmonary function testing and equipment Position Highlights and Benefits per diem Ministry/Facility Information Saint Mary's Hospital is a Catholic, not-for-profit, acute care, community teaching hospital that has served Greater Waterbury since 1909.
