Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' communication success as a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist near Bessemer, AL. Your expertise in speech and language therapy will be at the forefront of helping children achieve their academic and personal growth goals. In this school-based role, you'll collaborate with educators and families to assess student needs, develop individualized plans, and provide direct therapy services throughout the academic year. Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) Active state licensure, or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Alabama Prior school experience supporting diverse student populations preferred Strong ability to communicate with students, teachers, and parents Comfortable with conducting assessments, developing IEPs, and managing therapy caseloads
Responsibilities:
Evaluate students with speech, language, and communication disorders Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's unique needs Deliver direct and indirect therapy services in individual and group settings Track student progress and document all services provided Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student achievement Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP reviews Provide guidance and resources to staff and families regarding communication strategies This contract role for the 2026/2027 school year offers a dynamic schedule, the chance to enrich students' educational journeys, and an opportunity to work within a supportive school community dedicated to excellence.
