Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into an impactful Speech-Language Pathologist opportunity supporting local students' communication and learning needs. This contract role offers full-time hours during the school year, serving primarily elementary and middle school populations—a great environment to grow professionally and positively influence young lives.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Speech-Language Pathology license (ASHA certification) in Alabama Professional educator license for Alabama (see ALSDE Portal for verification) Will consider Clinical Fellows (CF) and those with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) Experience or interest in working with school-aged children Comfortable managing a caseload of up to 60 students Willingness to supervise CFs if holding CCCs Flexibility to support one or two school buildings as needed Strong teamwork, communication, and record-keeping skills
Responsibilities:
Provide direct speech and language therapy to students according to IEP goals Complete thorough assessments and progress reports Develop and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with IEP teams Consult with teachers, families, and administrators to support student success Supervise Clinical Fellows if CCC credential is held Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district and legal standards Travel between one or two school sites as assigned This role takes place onsite, offering a structured, engaging atmosphere.
