Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient assessments to determine speech and language disorders
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, focusing on improving communication skills
• Provide speech therapy services to patients, including articulation, fluency, voice, and language therapy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans for patients
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed
• Educate patients and their families on speech and language disorders and provide strategies for communication improvement
• Provide case management services, coordinating care with other healthcare professionals
• Work with pediatric patients in a hospital setting, including those in the ICU and critical care units

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to speech and language
• Proficiency in conducting patient assessments and developing treatment plans
• Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to speech therapy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients of all ages
• Ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining professionalism
• Strong organizational skills for managing caseload and documentation
