Category Schools - SLP Job Type Travel A specialized Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is sought for a travel assignment in Azusa, CA, requiring onsite evaluation expertise within a school setting. The ideal candidate will be highly experienced with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) assessment, specifically skilled in Keyguard customization. This position involves conducting a one-time evaluation for a student with moderate to severe communication needs.
Responsibilities:
Perform a comprehensive AAC assessment focusing on a student currently utilizing an AAC device who experiences frequent device breakdowns. Evaluate and document the appropriateness of the current high-tech AAC device versus potential lower-tech alternatives. Provide a detailed recommendation, including justification if a lower-tech device is deemed more suitable. Collaborate with school personnel to ensure the student's communication needs are thoroughly addressed.Qualifications:
Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) required. Experience in pediatric speech-language pathology and teletherapy highly valued. Knowledge and practical experience with AAC devices, particularly Keyguard customization. Experience within school settings and adherence to educational speech-language services. Ability to conduct thorough assessments and produce clear, professional reports. Current certification and licensure to practice speech-language pathology.Location:
This travel position is located onsite in Azusa, California, with the assignment centered around one comprehensive evaluation. This role offers the opportunity to apply specialized AAC skills in a critical school-based setting, impacting the communication abilities of a student with significant needs.
