• $132,345 Annually Length of Work Year 186 Employment Type Full Time Job Summary Job Summary Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Special Education and Student Support Services and/or designee, provide speech and language services to students with communication disorders from preschool to age 22; conduct assessments to assist in determining eligibility for special education and recommend appropriate speech and language services for students; develop and provide direct and indirect services for students with communication disorders; consult with staff, parents/guardians/educational rights holders, and others concerned with the progress of students and develop strategies for meaningful educational benefit; consult and collaborate with staff to assist with the development and implementation of comprehensive Individual Educational Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

• Assess student communication skills (e.g., articulation, uency, phonology, voice, receptive,expressive, and pragmatic language) to determine eligibility and/or need for services.
• Collaborate with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) specialists on assessments to determine and recommend methods, devices, aids, techniques, symbols, and/orstrategies to represent and/or augment spoken and/or written language in ways that optimizecommunication.
• Synthesize, analyze, interpret and summarize assessment results, observations, and developmentalinformation fo the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining eligibility, and developing recommendations for treatment.
• Prepare comprehensive written assessment reports outlining the interpretation of assessment results.
• Participate collaboratively as a member of the IEP team meeting to eectively communicate andinterpret assessment results, discuss eligibility, and propose goals and services as appropriate.
• Prepare and develop IEPs for eligible students.
