Administer diagnostic tests to determine the nature and extent of speech disorders; provide individual and group speech therapy services to clients/patients; prepare reports and summaries on diagnosis, progress and recommendations for assigned cases; confer with teachers, parents and employees in therapeutic procedures and methods of motivating clients/patients related to speech therapy; attend clinics and keep notes; develop and direct research projects and may supervise the work of Speech Pathologist License Applications. •Click on the link to complete the

Working Conditions The employee is required to work any shift and schedule in a variety of settings throughout the hospital and may be required to work overtime and float to other work locations as determined by the operational needs of the hospital. All state civil service employees are currently subject to a mandatory Personal Leave Program (PLP). The PLP program reduces the monthly gross salary but provides paid leave options (PLO) leave credits in lieu of pay. The amount of salary reduction depends on the classification and associated union Bargaining Unit (BU). The BU that represents this position is BU19 and is represented by America Federation of State, County, and Municipal Engineers (AFSCME). The expected salary reduction will be 3% of the salary identified above, and you will accrue 5 hours of PLP each qualifying pay period. Incumbents will be subject to the PLP salary reduction and leave accruals through June 30, 2027. Positions with time bases that are less than full-time will receive a prorated accrual of PLP that's based on number of hours worked during the pay period. Permanent, Full Time Department Information DSH-Coalinga opened in 2005 and began treating forensically committed patients, mostly of which are sexually violent predators. It is a self-contained psychiatric hospital constructed with a security perimeter. California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) provides perimeter security as well as transportation of patients to outside medical services and court proceedings.

Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a valid license to practice speech pathology in California as determined by the Speech Pathology and Audiology Examining Committee of the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance. (Includes possession of a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology or deemed equivalent as defined by the Speech Pathology and Audiology Examining Committee.) (Applicants who are in the process of securing approval of their qualifications by the Speech Pathology and Audiology Examining Committee will be admitted to the examination but they must meet all the legal requirements in order to be eligible for appointment.) To be considered for this Job Opportunity, applicants must have permanent civil service status, be reachable on an employment list, have transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility.
