Job Description Summary:
Provides speech/language pathology services, including evaluation, therapy administration, and/or counseling of clients and family regarding communicative profiles. Acts as a speech/language pathology liaison between Hearing & Speech/Hospital and community. Provides general staff support and supervision
Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:
EDUCATION
Masters' Degree or equivalent in speech and language pathology, as shown by valid California State Speech Pathologist License
EXPERIENCE 2-3
years progressively increasing responsibility experience as a speech and language pathologist in an acute care hospital or health care setting, preferred.
LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Licensed Speech Pathologist Required at hire Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire
PREREQUISITE SKILLS
  • Ability to establish rapport, counsel objectively and in a positive manner, explain test results and therapy plans in a manner consistent with the family's, staff's or client's communication ability, and ability to ask which will give the most pertinent information
  • Must have knowledge of all aspects of speech/language pathology, learning disabilities, non-verbal communication systems, normal human development and, laws which govern the profession
  • Excellent communication skills to provide staff with clinical support, direction
  • To assist in problem solving and professional growth

Compensation:
The posted pay range complies with applicable law and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Individual pay is set by skills, experience, qualifications, and internal/market equity, consistent with MarinHealth's compensation philosophy. Positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by those agreements.
