Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract role working with students from Pre-K through 8th grade for the 2026-2027 school year. You'll have the opportunity to provide vital speech and language services, making a real impact on students' communication skills and confidence. This position offers a balanced schedule: work three days a week, 6.5 hours per day, giving you time for other pursuits or responsibilities outside of work. As the lead speech-language pathologist, you'll serve as both case manager and provider of direct therapy to a manageable, focused caseload. This hands-on role allows you to focus your skills where they're needed most, with 6 speech-only students under your case management, and direct services for approximately 29 students overall. What you'll bring: Valid SLP license in California Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) Experience serving students in school settings, PK-8th grade preferred Strong collaborative, organizational, and communication abilities Ability to manage cases and provide high-quality direct interventions Your responsibilities: Deliver speech and language therapy tailored to individual and group needs Conduct assessments; develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Serve as case manager for speech-only students, overseeing plans, progress, and documentation Collaborate with teachers, families, and other school professionals Maintain accurate records and ongoing communication with stakeholders Perks and advantages: Contracted schedule for improved work-life balance (three days/week, 6.5 hours/day) Work with a diverse student population in a supportive school community Direct involvement in shaping student success and outcomes Professional growth opportunities Experience the satisfaction of helping students develop essential communication skills with supportive colleagues and a focused, meaningful caseload.
