We provide therapy and evaluations to children age birth to 3 years through in-home and community-based intervention via the Tri-Counties Regional Center. We are excited to expand our services to meet the needs of families seeking coordinated multidisciplinary care. The general service areas for this position may include Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Oak Park, Newbury Park, Simi Valley, and Moorpark, and this is flexible depending on therapist preference. We emphasize the importance of collaboration, consistency, and connection, with a focus on caregiver coaching and neurodiversity-affirming therapy for children and their families. Responsibilities Complete assessments to determine a child's eligibility for speech-language services, and to monitor progress throughout intervention. Assessment materials provided. Write comprehensive assessment reports, including standardized scores, observations, parent interview, medical/developmental history, and goals (if child qualifies for services). Establish individualized treatment plans and provide intervention for children with delays and disorders impacting receptive language, expressive language, speech sound production, pragmatic language, voice, fluency, and resonance. Travel to patients' homes and communities to provide services (paid travel time and mileage reimbursement provided). Provide parent coaching to promote carryover of skills between sessions. Complete all documentation and records in a timely and accurate manner. Provide updates on patients' progress to families/caregivers. Communicate with families and therapy team. Comply with governing code of ethics. Collaborate with the child's other therapists (if applicable) to ensure continuity of care - Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Child Development Specialists, and as part of the IFSP team. Requirements Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Must have passed the Praxis exam and be licensed to practice in California. Must have completed their RPE. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with clients and families of all ages and backgrounds. Adherence to a neurodiversity, strengths-based approach to therapy. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Current CPR certification and negative TB test. Two years of pediatric experience (preferred). Bilingual English-Spanish speaker (preferred).
Physical Requirements:
will engage in movements that involve lifting equipment used in patient care, ability to lift up to 20-30 lbs. at times. Start Date The practice is currently undergoing the Regional Center approval process to add additional therapy disciplines. While we are targeting a start date in late summer or early fall, timing will depend on the completion of the approval process. The Tri-Counties Regional Center has indicated that approval typically takes approximately 3-4 months, though timelines may vary depending on administrative processing. We will keep candidates updated throughout the process and share timelines as they become clearer.
