Job Summary We are seeking a pediatric-passionate Speech Language Pathologist to provide therapy services to children in the Concord, CA area in a school setting. The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) •must have AAC experience• and will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating children with speech, language, communication, cognitive-communication, and feeding/swallowing disorders, with a specialized focus on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems and interventions. The SLP will collaborate with families, educators, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to support functional communication and educational outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for pediatric clients/students. Assess communication needs related to AAC including expressive/receptive language, motor speech, cognition, literacy, and access methods. Develop individualized treatment plans, goals, and therapy programs. Provide direct speech therapy services in clinic, school, teletherapy, home, or community settings as assigned. Implement evidence-based AAC interventions for children with complex communication needs. Trial, program, and customize AAC devices and communication systems. Train caregivers, teachers, and support staff on AAC implementation and carryover strategies. Monitor client/student progress and modify treatment plans accordingly. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, progress notes, billing, and reports. Evaluate and recommend low-tech, mid-tech, and high-tech AAC systems. Collaborate with AAC vendors and funding agencies for device procurement. Support AAC device setup, vocabulary organization, and troubleshooting. Participate in IEP meetings and provide AAC recommendations for educational settings. Educate families and school teams regarding AAC best practices and communication access. Stay updated on AAC technologies, software, and evidence-based practices. Qualifications Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Active Speech Language Pathology license. CCC-SLP preferred (CFs with AAC experience may be considered). Experience working with pediatric populations and AAC systems. Familiarity with AAC platforms such as: TouchChat Proloquo2Go LAMP Words for Life TD Snap Tobii Dynavox Experience in school settings and IEP participation preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with colleagues Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail in documentation and treatment planning
