Aug 11, 2026 Job Description Summit School District is seeking a full-time (1.0) Speech and Language Pathologist. Speech Language Pathologist(s) work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-linguistic skills, fluency, voice and swallowing disorders in children. The SLP collaborates with classroom teachers, other school staff members, and IEP team members to integrate speech/language goals with student's academic objectives. The SLP plans instruction and assessment aligned with State achievement standards to help children meet their educational goals. They provide formal and/or informal evaluations and assessments to provide prevention, assessment and remediation services for students who exhibit difficulties in the areas of language, speech, voice and fluency. The SLP also assists in the development of an individualized Education Plan (IEP), based on student's assessed needs in order for the student to make reasonable educational progress in advancing speech and language development. The SLP implements and document goals and objectives from the IEP in the least restrictive environment. Lastly, the SLP maintains positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff, parents and community members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Active Special Service Provider (SSP) license issued by the Colorado Department of Education in the area of Speech and Language. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Effective time management and organizational skills. Experience as a school-based speech and language pathologist is preferred.
