Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make a difference supporting students' communication needs in a vibrant educational environment near Canterbury, CT. An immediate contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to work with Pre-K through 12th grade students. This position serves a diverse caseload, including students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, within a collaborative and resourceful team.
Essential Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program Valid state licensure and (if applicable) Department of Education certification to practice as an SLP in Connecticut Experience supporting children with ASD and/or complex communication needs Knowledge of evidence-based practices in school-based SLP services Strong communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary collaboration Ability to organize, manage, and document student progress efficiently Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
Assess students' speech, language, and communication abilities using standardized tools and clinical observation Develop and implement IEP goals in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other specialists Deliver direct and indirect speech-language therapy tailored to individual student needs, including those with ASD Maintain thorough records and progress notes as required by school/district guidelines Participate in team meetings, IEP conferences, and ongoing professional development Serve as a resource for school staff and families regarding communication strategies and supports
