This paid internship position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with pediatric patients in school settings, applying your clinical skills to make a meaningful difference in young lives. You'll collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver targeted interventions that foster speech, language, and social communication skills. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify speech, language, and swallowing challenges in pediatric populations Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's needs and developmental level Provide direct speech therapy services within school/ Clinic environments, focusing on early intervention strategies for children with diverse communication disorders Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting therapy techniques to optimize outcomes Educate families and school staff on effective communication strategies and home practice activities Maintain detailed documentation of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and support for each child's developmental goals Requirements Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Current enrollment in or recent completion of a Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) program or equivalent certification process Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology and anatomy related to speech and swallowing functions Experience working with children in school or early intervention settings is highly preferred Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology and patient care Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and interpret clinical data effectively Passion for working with children and dedication to improving their communication abilities Excellent communication skills to collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare providers Embark on a rewarding career journey where your expertise fuels children's growth and confidence.
