FULL TIME
basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in long term care and rehabilitation therapy.. This role involves assessing communication and swallowing disorders, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering effective therapy to improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, voice, and swallowing functions for geratric populationi. Develop and implement tailored therapy plans that address individual communication challenges. Collaborate with educators, caregivers, and healthcare teams to support patient progress and ensure consistency of care. Utilize current speech therapy techniques and physiological knowledge to facilitate effective treatment sessions. Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting therapy strategies as needed to optimize outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and session notes in compliance with regulatory standards. Educate families and caregivers on strategies to support communication development at home. Requirements Valid licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the applicable jurisdiction. Prior experience working with geriatric populations. Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques, physiology, anatomy relevant to speech and swallowing functions. Experience conducting patient assessments and interpreting medical terminology related to communication disorders. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams. A commitment to patient-centered care with a focus on improving communication abilities through evidence-based practices.
