Position Summary
SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST, WEEKEND OPTION
Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC)
ORMC IP REHAB SVS - PT
Full-Time Position Summary The Speech Language Pathologist, Weekend Option treats speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages with varying acuity levels. This position is used primarily to supplement weekend staffing. Education/Training Master's degree in speech/language pathology from an approved program. Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) may apply. Licensure/Certification
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence or active engagement in Clinical Fellowship Year requirements.
  • Maintains current Speech Language Pathologist license in the State of Florida. Provisional license is acceptable.
  • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider Certification. Essential Functions
  • Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources.
  • Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as delineated in the departmental policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates competency in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose.
  • Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate, and prepares written documentation as required by the department, and the care team.
  • Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit from speech therapy.
  • Ensures accurate billing.
  • Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
