1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Travel Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and MBS proficiency for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment in Plantation, FL. Details 250-bed acute care hospital setting, located on the 2nd floor of the main building Speech Therapy department currently staffed by 5 SLPs Full caseload of approximately 10-12 patients per day Performs Modified Barium Swallow (MBS)/fluoroscopy studies — full proficiency required Documents using Meditech EMR; some orientation to the system is available Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM No on-call requirements Requirements Active CCC-SLP certification required Active, unrestricted Florida Speech-Language Pathology license required (provisional licenses not accepted); license required if applicable Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Minimum 2 years of SLP experience required Must have active experience within the last 6 months in the SLP role Must be fully proficient and independent in MBS/fluoroscopy studies Experience with adult and geriatric populations in an acute care setting required US SSN and date of birth required for consideration Two professional references required for this position Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Additional Information Performs swallow evaluations post-extubation and for stroke protocol, pneumonia, failure to thrive, and altered mental status Conducts speech and language evaluations and treatments Provides dysphagia treatments Limited training is available on-site; candidates must be experienced and clinically independent upon arrival Works within a highly engaged, cohesive team known for patient advocacy and clinical excellence Scrubs required; light grey preferred, though any solid color scrubs are currently accepted No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 monthsSimilar jobs in Plantation, FL
