Job Description The K-12 Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for developing, planning, organizing, and implementing a therapy program to meet the needs of speech and language-impaired scholars.
Overview Starting Salary:
$48,750 for the 2026-27 school year
Additional Compensation:
Eligible for referendum supplement based on verified years of experience as a certified teacher.

Work Schedule:
7:20 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, 195 contract days
Benefits:
New full-time employees are eligible for insurance coverage beginning the first of the month following 60 days of employment, a 3% match of employee retirement contributions with a two-year vesting period, and 5 days (40 hours) of PTO. Reports to Teaching and Learning Coordinator Work hours are subject to change. Required Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders, or related field Enrollment in a Master's degree program at an accredited institution in the field of Speech-Language Pathology, or related field OR Acceptance into a Master's degree program at an accredited institution in the field of Speech-Language Pathology, or related field, within a year of hire Specific tasks required of this role include, but are not limited to the following: Design a therapy program in accordance with Classical Preparatory School (CPS) Exceptional Student Education (ESE) programs and the needs of scholars. Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language and communication disorders based on an assessment of scholar needs and in accordance with CPS procedures. Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings and diagnostic evaluations to scholars as required to determine the need for clinical services. Provide therapy to scholars based on needs outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), provide schedules for students, and complete appropriate follow-up and documentation related to therapy. Develop an individualized educational and therapy plan annually for each scholar, in accordance with CPS procedures. Collaborate with teachers to assist in ensuring that goals and objectives are achieved Participate in the development of student IEPs and implement them as necessary to ensure students' needs are being met appropriately. Participate in the comprehensive evaluation, review, and reevaluation process, the in-school staffing process, and the screening process as appropriate. Conduct grade-wide hearing screenings once a year in grades stipulated by District procedures Maintain open lines of communication with scholars, parent(s)/guardian(s), and teachers regarding progress and information to support scholar needs and services. Record, prepare, and maintain required reports and documentation; ensure confidentiality is maintained as required by federal, state, and District policies. Maintain a scholar-centered learning environment that is safe, organized, equitable, flexible, inclusive, and collaborative and accommodates the differing needs of scholars. Follow District policies and procedures concerning education, health, safety, personal information, and the well-being of students. Maintain required certifications, participate in professional development workshops and in-service training sessions as required, attend required meetings, and keep abreast of current educational trends, laws, regulations, and statutes. Maintain the requirements of professional responsibility and ethical conduct by fulfilling expected obligations to students, the public, and the education profession while adhering to all rules and requirements.
