Overview Join our dynamic educational team as a School-Based Speech Therapist, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of students. In this role, you will provide specialized speech and language services within school settings, fostering effective communication skills that empower children to succeed academically and socially. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for students across various grade levels to identify communication challenges. Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's unique needs, incorporating evidence-based therapy techniques. Deliver engaging speech therapy sessions focused on improving articulation, language comprehension, social communication, and voice disorders. Collaborate closely with teachers, school staff, parents, and other specialists to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities and daily routines. Monitor student progress regularly, adjusting therapy strategies as needed to ensure continuous improvement. Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, session notes, and progress reports in compliance with school policies and regulations. Promote early intervention strategies that support developmental milestones and prevent future communication difficulties. Experience Prior experience working in a school environment or with pediatric populations is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of pediatric speech therapy techniques and early intervention practices. Familiarity with physiology related to speech production, anatomy relevant to the vocal apparatus, and medical terminology used in patient care. Proven ability to assess patients effectively through formal and informal evaluation methods. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and students. Demonstrated understanding of patient care principles within educational settings and commitment to supporting diverse learning needs.
