Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic school-based role focusing on Speech-Language Pathology for the upcoming academic year. This contract position, located near Calumet City, IL, serves a diverse student population in grades EC-8. The assignment is structured for the 2024-25 school year, with an anticipated start date in mid-August through late May. Your efforts will make a direct impact as you collaborate with a fellow SLP to deliver essential speech and language services.
What We're Looking For:
Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) specific to Speech-Language Pathology (must be verifiable) Active license as a Speech-Language Pathologist from IDFPR Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) Demonstrated school-based experience, particularly with diverse caseloads or EC-8th grade populations Strong communication, organizational, and documentation abilities Commitment to onsite service delivery (no virtual/VOCO option) ISBE number must be provided for application consideration
Key Responsibilities Include:
Evaluate and assess students with identified communication needs Develop and implement evidence-based speech and language interventions Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to support individualized education plans (IEPs) Maintain thorough documentation to meet district, union, and state requirements Manage a caseload split between two SLPs (approximately 45 students/FTE and 25 students/part-time) Adhere to union and district guidelines and processes You'll benefit from a collaborative environment with structured support and an opportunity to make a genuine difference in student outcomes throughout Calumet City.
