Professional Educator License as required by the State of Illinois and Speech Language Pathologist (Non-Teaching)endorsement
Salary and Benefit Information:
Salary is based on Step and Lane using the 2026-2027 Salary Schedule. Click here for the DGEEA Contract 2024-2027, Salary Schedule located on page 64.
Job Summary :
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will assess and provide specialized instruction and intervention to students with communication disorders, including speech, language, voice, and fluency. The SLP works collaboratively with teachers, parents, and the multidisciplinary team to support student success within the educational environment.
Identification & Assessment:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations and screenings to identify students with speech and language impairments.
IEP Management:
Develop and implement individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including setting measurable goals and monitoring progress.
Direct Instruction:
Provide individual and group therapy sessions aligned with the student's IEP and the general education curriculum.
Collaboration:
Consult with classroom teachers, parents, and administrators regarding communication strategies and classroom accommodations.
Compliance:
Maintain accurate and confidential records, including progress reports, session logs, and Medicaid billing (if applicable), ensuring adherence to IDEA and state regulations.
Meeting Participation:
Lead or participate in IEP meetings, 504 meetings, and MTSS/problem-solving team discussions.
