Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities await Speech-Language Pathologists seeking a rewarding part-time contract role supporting high school students in a dynamic educational environment near Orland Park, IL. This position offers the chance to make a significant impact on students aged 2 to 22 with a wide range of communication needs, including those with moderate to severe disabilities. In this role, you will: Contribute to planning and the delivery of speech-language therapy, incorporating assistive technology, augmentative/alternative communication, and interventions targeting social language, articulation, voice, oral-motor skills, feeding, and delays in receptive/expressive language. Conduct thorough diagnostic and evaluation testing to support students' unique communication profiles. Provide clear, insightful reports following comprehensive assessments and observations. Develop, track, and update IEP objectives for each student, ensuring goals are met. Work closely with parents and educational peers, sharing insights and strategies to further students' growth and success. Address a broad spectrum of student needs, from articulation and feeding concerns to technology integration and complex developmental profiles.
Preferred qualifications include:
Active or eligible Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) licensure and a Professional Educator License (PEL). 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience as a school SLP is desired. Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. Adaptability and strong problem-solving abilities when supporting diverse student populations.
