Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech Therapist (Home Health PRN) to provide exceptional speech-language pathology services in a home health setting. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' communication and swallowing abilities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with pediatric populations, particularly in early intervention and school environments, and possess strong assessment and patient care skills. The position requires a professional with a solid understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to speech and language disorders. Duties Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for patients across various age groups, including pediatrics. Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs, focusing on speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Implement therapy sessions in patients' homes, utilizing evidence-based techniques to improve communication skills. Monitor patient progress regularly and adjust treatment strategies accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes. Educate patients and their families about speech therapy exercises, strategies, and techniques to support ongoing improvement. Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals involved in the patient's care to ensure comprehensive support. Stay current with advancements in speech therapy practices, particularly in early intervention and pediatric care. Qualifications Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). Experience working with pediatric populations is highly preferred, especially in early intervention or school settings. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to speech and swallowing disorders. Proven ability to perform thorough patient assessments and develop effective treatment plans. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward children and families. Familiarity with pediatric development milestones and early intervention strategies is desirable. Ability to work independently in a home health environment while maintaining professional standards. Prior experience with patient documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations is advantageous.
