Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description:
The Speech-Language Pathologist provides assessment, intervention, and consultation services to support students with speech, language, communication, and related disorders. The Speech-Language Pathologist collaborates with teachers, families, and support staff to help students access the curriculum and achieve educational success in a school-based setting.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program Valid state licensure and Professional Educator License with Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred Experience working with preschool and school-age children preferred Knowledge of special education procedures, IEP development, and compliance requirements Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
Conduct evaluations and screenings to identify speech and language disorders Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with student IEP goals Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services to students in PreK to 8 Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers regarding student progress and support strategies Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and other student support meetings Maintain accurate records, progress monitoring data, and required documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations Support the development of communication skills that enhance academic and social success Assist staff with strategies and accommodations to support student communication needs Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions Reports to: Building and District Administration How to
