Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Speech Pathology Indiana Teacher's License in Speech, Language and hearing clinician Primary function: Speech and language pathologists work as part of a multidisciplinary team, alongside other education professionals and are responsible for the speech, language and hearing therapy of students who receive speech services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Identifying children's developmental speech and communication difficulties/disorders. Design appropriate therapy programs for students. Work with students on a one-to-one basis, and in groups, to deliver therapy. Monitor and evaluate student progress. Write and maintain confidential client case notes and reports, including IEP's. Manage a caseload taking account of priority cases, waiting lists, successful outcomes, referral and discharge of students. Collaborate with school staff to improve the effectiveness of service delivery. Support and supervise speech and language therapy assistants. Assess communication environments. Plan and deliver training sessions. Contribute to the implementation and evaluation of projects and developments.
