Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) PRN, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults in a geriatric setting. In this flexible role, you will provide specialized speech therapy services, focusing on geriatric care. Your passion for helping patients improve communication skills and swallowing functions will be essential in fostering their growth and independence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a skilled nursing facility. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing functions using medical terminology and anatomy knowledge. Develop personalized treatment plans targeting speech therapy goals aligned with each patient's needs and developmental stage. Deliver engaging therapy sessions focused on improving communication skills, language development, and swallowing safety in geriatric populations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, and other therapy disciplines to ensure cohesive patient care strategies. Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting therapy techniques based on physiology knowledge and assessment outcomes. Document all patient interactions thoroughly in compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain accurate medical records. Experience Adult/Geriatric experience is a plus! Experience conducting patient assessments within geriatric populations, utilizing appropriate medical terminology. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology is highly desirable. Ability to adapt therapy approaches to diverse patient needs while maintaining a positive, energetic attitude. Pay:
$50.00 - $60.00 per hour
