Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students across the Flint Hills region as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist! This contract opportunity offers a truly flexible schedule, with openings for both full-time and part-time candidates, and the unique chance to work in a variety of school settings within the Flint Hills Special Education Cooperative. Each assignment is within an hour's drive of Emporia, KS, and you'll have the opportunity to indicate your preferred work area based on your current location. Leverage your SLP expertise by supporting a manageable student caseload, working directly with 10-12 students per day or 50-55 each week. Your work will be focused on empowering students with communication needs, collaborating with educational teams, and contributing to inclusive learning environments.
Desired Qualifications:
Active Kansas SLP license required ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred Experience in school-based or pediatric settings strongly valued Ability to adapt therapy techniques to diverse student needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, families, and staff Proficiency in assessment, IEP development, documentation, and progress monitoringKey Responsibilities:
Deliver speech and language therapy to students onsite at one or more schools within the cooperative Complete thorough student assessments and maintain accurate records Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams Provide engaging direct and consultative therapy services Participate in school meetings and contribute to positive outcomes for students This is a fantastic position for those who thrive on variety, collaboration, and making a visible impact.
