Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make a positive impact on the lives of young learners as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist working with pre-kindergarten students (ages 3-5). This full-time, contract opportunity runs from August 10th, 2026 through May 20th, 2027, and offers the unique experience of supporting a PreK itinerant caseload—delivering specialized services onsite and collaborating with educators and families to foster early communication skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) Active state licensure to practice in Louisiana, or ability to obtain prior to start date Experience delivering SLP services within school settings (early childhood/PreK experience preferred) Strong assessment, intervention, and documentation skills Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Provide evidence-based speech-language therapy and evaluations for preschool students across various educational sites Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Maintain consistent documentation of student progress and therapy outcomes Consult with teachers and families to support language development strategies within classroom and home environments Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to support student success Uphold confidentiality and adhere to all federal, state, and district regulations
