Job Description

Speech Language Pathologist ACE is looking for an enthusiastic Speech Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll assess, diagnose, and provide therapy for students with communication disorders, ensuring they thrive academically and socially. Collaborate with educators and parents, develop innovative treatment plans, and make a real difference in students' lives.

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree from an accredited program in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders Louisiana Speech-Language Pathologist license Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidate Willingness to be trained and coached in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders. Knowledge of assistive technology, AAC systems, and communication devices commonly used by individuals with autism. Understanding of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the requirements for developing and implementing IEPs.

Starting Salary $47,250
PERFORMANCE/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate effectively with staff, visitors, and families Maintain flexibility and adaptability in various working environments Proficient in computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google documents, etc.) Knowledgeable about school safety and security procedures Work independently and collaboratively, with attention to detail Celebrate student achievements and successes Demonstrate professional communication and interpersonal skills Uphold confidentiality and exercise good judgment Stay current with advancements in AAC technology and speech-language therapy through professional development Obtain and maintain CPI and CPR certification
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess and evaluate student communication skills and abilities, language skills, and speech production. Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop a communication profile and a comprehensive plan to generalize the plan across environments. Design individualized education plans with therapy goals based on assessment results and student needs. Implement evidence-based therapy intervention to target speech and language goals, pragmatic language, communication skills, and social emotional goals. Modify therapy techniques and strategies to accommodate the unique learning styles and sensory needs of students. Provide integrated speech services to students individually or in small groups into the classroom. Communicate regularly with parents or caregivers to communicate progress, share strategies for home use, and provide recommendations for supporting communication development outside of school. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessment results, therapy sessions, progress toward therapy goals and communication with parents or caregivers. Monitor and evaluate student progress regularly through data collection or periodic reassessment to adjust therapy goals and interventions as needed. Participate in (re)evaluation and IEP meetings, case conference, and team meetings to review student progress, discuss concerns, and collaboratively develop plans for ongoing support and intervention. ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Position may involve: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, and other physical activity.
LIGHT WORK
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
