As pediatric orthopedic specialists, we are a multispecialty outpatient clinic that is home to the only Clinical Motion Analysis Lab in the state of Louisiana. Our orthopedic services also extend to an Outreach clinic located in Marshall, Texas. Job Overview The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) engages in the professional practice of communication and swallowing in an outpatient clinic setting. You will provide evaluations, treatment plans, education and training to meet the cognitive, communication and swallowing needs of our patients. Responsibilities Upon receiving a licensed independent practitioner referral, implements a systematic patient examination and evaluation utilizing a comprehensive, patient and family-centered approach to decision making incorporating national standards and the AMA CPT codes. SLP will design, develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address presenting symptoms or concerns of a communication and/or swallowing problem or related functional issue to optimize function. Makes appropriate discharge plans by collaborating with patients, their families, care management, and community resources such as schools/outside therapy clinics, and actively participating in multidisciplinary meetings. Supports risk management and compliance initiatives through accurate thorough documentation. This is not an all-inclusive list of this job's responsibilities. Qualifications Required Masters degree in Speech Pathology Licensed in state of practice Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC's) Preferred 1 year experience in a pediatric setting Bilingual English/Spanish
