JOB GOAL:
To deliver a variety of services in speech and language and complete assessments for the purpose of educational planning.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide therapeutic services to students with a wide variety of speech and language disorders and delays both individual and/or group for elementary school students. Performs diagnostic evaluations and implements treatment plans in relation to student needs. Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement effective therapy that integrates student's program. Serves as a consultant to school staff members in the development of services. Participates in I.E.P. meetings and parent conferences. Responsible for goal writing for I.E.P.'s. Keep thorough records of the individual student receiving services.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Special Education Coordinator and Building Principal Salary and Benefits are consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association. The Salary Schedule is on our website. Salary placement is based on Education and Experience. Arlington has a well-established new teacher induction program with mentoring throughout the school year. The first official work day in the 2026-2027 school year will be August 31, 2026. However, new staff are required to attend several days of orientation and training during the last two weeks of August.
