Job Description

Position Overview The Weston Public Schools is seeking to hire a Speech & Language Pathologist for our Extended School Year (ESY) Program. The ESY program will run from June 29 - August 7; Monday-Friday (no ESY on July 3rd). We are looking for a diverse pool of applicants who are inspired by our mission to educate, equip, and inspire all students to achieve their full potential and enrich their community. About the Weston Public Schools The Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 9-12, a middle school for grades 6-8, an upper elementary school for grades 4-5, and two lower elementary schools for pre-kindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) - a voluntary school integration program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 160 students (K-12). Key Responsibilities Embrace the diversity of the Weston Public Schools by fostering an environment of respect and inclusion Provide consultation to teachers on the development of language Assist teachers in developing language-based classroom activities Provide individual services to children with speech and/or language disabilities Assess needs in the areas of speech, language, and hearing Prepare diagnostic reports Serve as a member of a team that will develop an individual education programs Other such duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Student Services Desired Qualifications Hold a valid Massachusetts license as a Speech & Language Pathologist Three or more years experience as teacher, preferably in a diverse public school setting Excellent team building and interpersonal skills Compensation ESY Teachers will be paid an hourly rate commensurate with their experience and education level, ranging from $43.00 to $90.00 per hour.
