Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in Brooklyn, MI, supporting a K-12 educational setting for the Extended School Year (ESY) program. This role is designed for a dedicated professional specializing in pediatric speech therapy within schools. The position focuses on delivering speech and language services to students across all grade levels, utilizing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices as a vital component of therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive speech-language pathology services to K-12 students during the ESY program Assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy sessions tailored to each student's needs Utilize AAC devices effectively to support communication development Collaborate with educators and related service providers to support students' educational goals Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school policies and guidelines
Qualifications and Experience:
Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred Experience working in pediatric settings, particularly schools Previous involvement in Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is advantageous Skilled in AAC device usage and integration within therapy plans Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, and school staff
