ASSIGNMENT
(S):
  • Farwell Area Schools (K-4/5 grade);
  • Farwell and Clare Preschools & Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE); or
  • To Be Determined
REPORTS TO
Director of Special Education and/or Special Educator Supervisor
WORK DAYS
School-year position following the district calendar; Five (5) days per week; 7.25 hours per day
SALARY RANGE
According to the terms of the Master Agreement for AFT. Starting Pay is based on education and years of experience.
STARTING DATE
August 2026 or as soon as possible
JOB OBJECTIVE
The Special Education Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides comprehensive speech-language pathology services to students with disabilities in the school setting. This position is dedicated to evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication disorders that impact educational performance. The Speech-Language Pathologist collaborates with special education teams, general education staff, families, and community partners to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that promote student communication development, academic success, and social-emotional well-being.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program is required. Certificates and/or licenses approved by the State of Michigan, LARA Valid Michigan Driver's License
