About The Role Under the direct supervision of the administrator and in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Ingham Intermediate School District, the Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for providing supportive services for eligible students enrolled in regular, vocational, or special education programs. The Speech-Language Pathologist will focus on student evaluation, provision of direct and indirect therapy services, and collaborative consultation with staff, parents, agency personnel and administrators. Facilitates teachers and parents in observing, describing and referring suspected speech and language impairments with students. Provides comprehensive speech and language evaluation of students referred for suspected speech and language impairments through the IEP Evaluation Review process. Serves as a member or coordinator of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team to provide and interpret the assessment of speech and language skills in determining appropriate placement in special education programs/services for eligible students. About You Full approval as a Speech-Language Pathologist through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) is required. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA is optional. Knowledge of special education laws, rules and regulations. Knowledge of speech/language development and pathology necessary to identify communication disorders and to develop appropriate programs and services for speech and language impaired students.
