https://jobs.redroverk12.com/org/1410/opening/175459 Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Pathologist to join our team at New Haven Elementary School. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with students, teachers, and parents to assess and address speech and language disorders, fostering effective communication skills in children. This full-time position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our students and contribute to their academic success. Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in a one-on-one or small group setting.
  • Monitor and document students' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Provide training and resources to teachers and staff on strategies to support students with communication challenges.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of students' educational plans.
  • Stay current with research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • Provide interventions and evaluations to caseload of students with a wide range of disabilities.
  • Provide leadership and direction to special education and general education classrooms, focusing on interventions and behaviors
  • Establish relationships with consultants from the MISD including, but not limited to, ASD consultants, behavioral consultants, and Early childhood consultants. Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) preferred. Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • Experience working with children in a school setting is highly desirable.
Extensive Knowledge of
ASD,CI, EI
eligibilities; including behavior and communication evidence-based practices and supports.
  • Strong understanding of speech and language development, disorders, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Terms of Employment:
Internal and External Candidates Deadline:
June 15, 2026 or until filled. School year as defined in the written agreement between the New Haven Board of Education and the New Haven Education Association.
COMPENSATION
Appropriate placement on the salary schedule as defined in the written agreement between the New Haven Board of Education and the New Haven Education Association which can be found at www.newhaven.misd.net under the transparency.
