Le Sueur-Henderson School District 2026-27School Year Job Summary :
Providing speech and language therapy for students with special education services including speech, language, voice, influency and neurogenic swallowing disorders and communication impairments. Responsible for implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in accordance with due process rights of students. Ability to work in the beautiful MN River Valley and short distance to the Twin Cities Metro Area.License Required:
A current license in Speech Language Pathology issued by the Minnesota Department of Education as well as eligibility for an American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association Clinical Fellowship, or the CCC certification. May be required to possess a current Minnesota Motor Vehicle Class D Operator License.Position Description:
Provides students specific direct and indirect speech therapy services as determined in the IEP. Conducts appropriate speech therapy screening, evaluation, and intervention services to support students with disabilities who are referred by school personnel and parents. Follows departmental and state guidelines for providing screening, evaluation, and intervention services for children with disabilities including maintaining compliance with due process requirements, professional peer review and administrative review policies; Effectively communicates with district personnel, students, caseworkers, parents, etc. Participates in meetings as requested. Serves as a liaison with the medical community and agencies on student issues related to speech therapy services. Supports parents of children with disabilities to understand the role of speech therapy services in school. Accesses school and community resources; Consults with classroom teachers, staff, outside therapy agencies and parents regarding communication programs and student performance; Provides billable medical assistance services; Plans to develop and implement therapeutic materials and activities, such as symbols, communication systems, communication notebooks and instructional and social skills activities, consistent with the student's IEP.Extracurricular Opportunities:
